Julie Elwell provides individual counseling for those with depression, anxiety, grief and loss issues, and issues related to trauma. She uses a variety of approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Ms. Elwell has more than 20 years of therapy experience. She has worked in a variety of settings throughout Washington, D.C.,Virginia, and Maryland including community mental health clinics, hospitals and private practice.
A native of Maine, Ms. Elwell received her master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She got her bachelors degree from Clark University (Mass.)
